Make sure you leave plenty of empty space in your charity's leaflets, rather than filling it with text and photos. White space (or space of whatever colour your leaflet is) makes content more readable and draws the eye in.
Take this section of an Amnesty International leaflet (pictured below). They could have filled the page with information on human rights abuses and how Amnesty makes a difference. But instead, they have used a few carefully selected words, surrounded by lots of empty space, to draw you in.
